Surreptitious Memories

Memories are eccentric and clandestine. They are languid and phlegmatic, slapdash at times, never following any rule or chronology.  They nictitate in our brains, peep into our hearts and stir them, even before we realize we are drowned in the ocean of our memories. They play hide and seek with us, intermittently. When we try to delve deep into them, they tend to move away far beyond our jurisdiction, dampening our spirits, and then, all of a sudden, come forth for a quick consolation.

We never even know when they have us knocked down. But then when we try and trail them, they seem to scoff at us and run away...far beyond our vision, finding shelter, perhaps in the womb of some star or in the centre of some milky way, or else, escape through a black hole into some primordial universe...

It’s a heady brew of philosophy and esoterically creative thoughts, emblematically yours!

Memories may be like fallen leaves which come back and pay us a visit from time to time, but memories have other faces too! They can get us enamored, in ways one can't even think of! That's what I tried to describe here.

Welcome to my blog Amrita. Thanks for your feedback.
Let me reiterate certain words and thoughts here, memories are not always painful, as you may have perceived, not to me at least. But yes, they sometimes do wink at us and vanish in thin air even before we can consummate their presence. Memories can be naughty, enchanting and delightful. They titillate your pain but when you feel your eyes moist and want to shed some fat salty tears, you realize you are smiling! Such is the magic of memories; that's what I meant when I wrote "They come back for a quick consolation."
Also, moving on to a further level, since this age old universe lures me a lot, I tend to associate every aspect of my life with it and so with memories. I love to wonder that they sleep in the womb of some star or milky way, may be they comfortably hibernate even in an another universe to which they escape through some black hole....
I might sound impractical to many "practical, logical and sound-minded" people but I love to be this way, think this way and dream.. endlessly!
